School-Based Mental Health
School-Based Mental Health Services are provided through a partnership consisting of the Greene County Mental Health Center and the school districts to provide mental health services through a Social Worker. Hundreds of counseling sessions are provided to students at their school either once a week or bi-weekly.
Most parents are contacted by telephone on a weekly or biweekly basis to keep them apprised of progress and new developments. Several parents come to the schools for family sessions as needed. Also, some students are referred to a nurse practitioner for medication. In all cases, the Mental Health Center caseworkers coordinate with school personnel.
Contact your local school if you would like more information about this program or you can call the Greene County Mental Health Center at 622-9163.
