History of Our Organization

The Greene County Rural Health Network was founded through the vision of local leaders who, in 1994, recognized the need to strengthen and expand health care services across Greene County. With initial support from a seed grant awarded by the New York State Office of Rural Health, the Network officially became a nonprofit organization in 1996.

Since then, the Greene County Rural Health Network has played a key role in strengthening the local health care landscape. The Network has invested nearly $5.5 million in grant funding to support initiatives that advance our mission of improving the health and well-being of Greene County residents.

Our approach is rooted in sustainability — helping launch essential programs and services, supporting their growth, and guiding them toward long-term independence. To date, the Network has helped bring more than 25 impactful health programs and services to the community.
